PARISH LIFE

Parish Life

The heart of a parish is the Eucharist, but the parishioners of St. James make it a unique and vibrant community. Our parish offers many ways for parishioners to be involved in addition to the celebration of the sacraments.

Faith formation is a vital element of Catholic life as we grow in knowledge and understanding of our faith in Jesus Christ and the Church he gave us. A deeper understanding helps us grow in our relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. As our relationship with God grows, we are better able to connect with our family, friends, neighbors, parish, and community. Faith formation is not just for children, but for all of us as we grow as Catholics. Our parish has many opportunities for faith formation that we encourage you to explore.

Another way to participate in our parish life is through the various parish ministries including liturgical ministries, prayer ministries, and service and outreach ministries. God calls us to use our gifts and talents to glorify Him and make life better for other people. Please prayerfully consider these opportunities for getting involved in ministry.

To stay informed about events in our parish, please read the weekly bulletin. The current and past month’s bulletins are linked on the home page in this website, so if you accidentally recycle one that you picked up at Mass, you can find it there.

For your enjoyment you might want to take a look at some of the photos that were taken at St. James Church over the years, from Groundbreaking 1964 through changes in liturgies due to Covid. We've had quite the history since the first Mass in 1966!
